2019 California political elites’ visit to China is successful, and CBiBank will continue to play as a bridge for China-US economic cooperation

In August 2019, the California political elites delegation’s visit to China  ended successfully. This year marks the 40th anniversary of establishing  diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Cooperation between  the two countries has a long history with continuously deeper economic and trade  exchanges and more convenient communication. It is solid and has broad prospect.  The main purpose of the visit is to further promote mutual understanding and  relationship between the people and local governments of two countries. The delegation visited major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai,  Chongqing, Chengdu and Hangzhou. On July 29th, the delegation met with Liang  Zhou, vice chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission,  Guomin Chen from National People's Congress Foreign Affairs Committee, Yucheng  Le, executive vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and so on. The  two sides exchanged views on China-US relation, economic and trade issues, and  cooperation between California and China. Since the China-US establishing  diplomatic relations, cultural exchanges between the two countries have played  an important role in promoting the relation development.

On July 31st, the delegation went to Shanghai and met with vice mayor Kunlin  Xu in the VIP room of the City Hall. On August 1st, the delegation visited the  coast redwood given by former President Nixon as a gift in the Hangzhou  Botanical Garden in West Lake Area, and held a tree planting event to celebrate  the 40th anniversary for China-US establishing diplomatic relations.

On August 2nd, the delegation visited Chongqing and visited some historical  and cultural sites such as Stilwell Museum and Dazu Rock Carving. Mayor of  Chongqing and deputy secretary of the municipal committee Liangzhi Tang met with  the delegation and expressed his views on strengthening cooperation between  Chongqing and the US, especially California, in the fields of economy, trade,  education, culture and tourism, and deepening exchanges and people  interaction.

From August 3rd to 5th, the delegation went to Sichuan and attended the  ‘First Sichuan-California Mayor Dialogue’ meeting with the theme of  ‘Strengthening Local Exchanges and Promoting Win-Win Cooperation’. Six mayors  from both sides shared views on city culture and development experience,  introduced the city development planning and future prospects and discussed  about how to promote exchanges and cooperation between local governments with  deepening relationship. The delegation also made a special trip to Yingxiu Town.  They mourned the victims of the Wenchuan earthquake and visited the  reconstructed Yingxiu Town.

Looking back over the past 40 years, China-US relations have gone through  many difficulties and developed with barriers, but still have achieved  unimaginable tremendous achievements, which not only bring great benefits to the  citizens, but also promote peace, stability and prosperity in the world. As the  most developed state in the United States, California political elites  delegation’s visit to China deepened the cooperation between Chinese and  American local governments and continuing the China-US friendship.
